Ottawa County Campaign Headquarters Opening

KAPTUR OPENS LOCAL DEMOCRATIC HDQTRS
Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur was in Port
Clinton Wednesday evening to attend the opening
celebration of the Ottawa County Democratic
Headquarters. Greeted by about fifty persons,
Kaptur cut a ribbon to designate the official
opening of the local political office. It is
situated at 119 Madison Street and will be open
through Election Day, Nov. 2.
Master
of ceremonies for the event was County
Prosecuting Attorney Mark Mulligan. Mulligan
announced that the party's new web site is now
in operation at www.ottawadems.org. The site
was created by a committee consisting of Amy
Drummer, Chris Galvin and Darrell Opfer. Rick
Noderer is the web site administrator.
The local effort to support the
Kerry-Edwards Presidential campaign and the
Kaptur for Congress campaign will be organized
at the Democratic Party Headquarters.
Information and yard signs for local candidates
are available there. Currently workers are
present 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 on week days and 9 a.m.
until noon on Saturdays.
Several
announcements were made at the opening
celebration. These included:
- The
annual Democratic Dinner will be held at the
County Fairgrounds on Mon., Oct 4 with Mary
Ellen Withrow, former United States Treasurer,
as speaker. Call the dinner chairperson, Jodi

reservations are required. Tickets are $25.

silent auction at the dinner should contact

- Thanks were extended to those who
contributed items for the rummage/bake sale
sponsored by the county's women elected

house event at Democratic Headquarters.
