About
Virginia has been Ottawa County's Recorder
since 1989 - serving in fifth term.
She first worked in the recorder's office in
1982. Ginny has led many changes in the
Recorder's Office beginning with the
computerization of all office procedures and
cash procedures in 1994 and 1995. In 2002 she
implemented the change to electronic images of
documents, rather than paper. Virginia is well
known and respected by her peers throughout
Ohio for her dedication, involvement and
experience in the duties and responsibilities
of County Recorder.
Bio
A native of Ottawa County and Portage Township,
Ginny lives in Bay Township where she also is
serving her second term as Township
Trustee. She is a graduate of Port Clinton High
School and majored in education at the
University of Toledo. The mother of a son,
Jeff, who resides in Oak Harbor, Ginny is a
member of Trinity United Methodist Church in
Port Clinton. An active member of several
historical societies, Ginny is frequently
called upon to speak at clubs, organizations
and church groups on a wide variety of topics.
She numbers reading, fiction writing, walking
and sewing among her hobbies. Well known for
her weekly newspaper column begun in 1983,
Ginny enjoys spending time with her large
extended family and a number of friends.
